Tips for making safe online job applications

June 19th, 2009 No comments

Mustakbil.com is the only jobs site in Pakistan that contacts each employer to verify its status so that every job that is posted on our website is genuine and posted by authorized person only. We hope that you will understand that due to the limited resources it is not practically possible for us to conduct in-depth verification of each employer.

We work hard to maintain the quality of jobs on Mustakbil.com, but we advise you to keep in mind the following advice when searching and applying for jobs on this or any other job site:

  • Google and try to find out the basic information about the employer
  • There is no need to provide bank account details, personal financial information or payment to any person or organization when applying for a job.
  • As part of the job application process, recruiters/employers/agents should never ask you to pay fees for recruitment or processing services, such as training materials, interview fees, test fees, CV/resume improvements or administrative costs etc.
  • Avoid applying for jobs where the role requires you to process payments via a personal bank account or transfer money by wire services such as Western Union or Moneygram.
  • Finally, if you see an opportunity which appears too good to be true, please let us know, so we can investigate further.

If you have any suspicions about jobs you see on Mustakbil.com, you can report them to our customer support team who will take immediate appropriate action.

Please note that Mustakbil.com strives hard to offer the best and safest possible customer experience for both jobseekers and employers, while disclaiming any loss/liability, please read the disclaimer available at http://www.mustakbil.com/disclaimer.htm

Wishing you success using Mustakbil.com!

Browsing Issue for users accessing Mustakbil.com through PTCL Broadband Connection

Since past few days some of the users of our website are reporting that they are unable to access the website using PTCL broadband connection.

We have investigated the issue at our end and there doesn’t seem to be any problem at our end as the website is working perfectly when access through other ISPs. Third party tools such as http://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/www.mustakbil.com also shows that there isn’t any problem with the website.

Similarly, when the website is access through OpenDNS instead of PTCL DNS servers it works perfectly.

We are in constant contact with PTCL since the day when first incident was reported. PTCL staff is working on the issue, and they have assured us that it will be fixed soon.

As its taking too much time, we recommend the users who are accessing the website through PTCL broadband connection follow the steps mentioned below:

  1. Click Start menu and click Control Panel
  2. Click Network Connections
  3. Double click Local Area Connection icon this will open Local Area Connection Status.
  4. Click Properties button this will open Local Area Connection Properties dialog box.
  5. Double click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) from the list.
  6. Select Use the following DNS server addresses radio button and type the following as DNS servers
  • Preferred DNS Server : 208.67.222.222
  • Alternate DNS Server : 208.67.220.220
